Laughter: Words of Wisdom

A ridiculous look at the power and source of laughter

“Laughter is the language of the soul.” ~Pablo Neruda

The second greatest way to bond with another person is to laugh together.  (The greatest way, of course, is to get drunk together – which usually leads to laughter, anyway.)  When we laugh together, our souls are recognizing a kindred spirit, communicating an unspoken shared understanding.

Laughter is pure, joyous, playful, spontaneous, and free – as the soul, at its best, should be.  Laughter is an expression of the soul delighting in its existence.

As a tribute to the power of laughter, I wrote a poem dedicated to delighting my soul.  These are some of the things that make me laugh.

I Laugh

I laugh when someone farts in the elevator

I laugh even harder if I’m the perpetrator

I laugh when people say that I have no class

I laugh every time I see a monkey’s ass

I laugh when the plumber is showing off his butt

I laugh when I see a squirrel munching on some nuts

I laugh when I shake my ass in a silly dance

I laugh at the stain on the crotch of your pants

I laugh when everything I have was made in China

I laugh when old ladies say the word “vagina”

Say the word “vagina”

Say the word “vagina”

I laugh when old ladies say the word “vagina”

I laugh when fat girls wear tiny bikinis

I laugh when those fat girls try to eat my weenie

I laugh when I see a man riding on a pony

I laugh every time I think about bologna

I laugh every time my nipples get tickled

I laugh when someone says “We’re in a pickle”

I laugh when a bald guy is wearing a bandana

I laugh when a gay guy is eating a banana

I laugh every time a stranger trips and falls

I laugh when you spill hot coffee on your balls

Coffee on your balls

Coffee on your balls

I laugh when you spill hot coffee on your balls

I laugh when people say “WTF”

I laugh when I fake sign language to the deaf

I laugh when I try to eat a droopy noodle

I laugh when a tough guy walks a little poodle

I laugh when a baby breastfeeds on its mom

I laugh when anyone calls something “Da bomb”

I laugh when I make silly faces in the mirror

I laugh when my grandmother orders me to beer her

I laugh when a grandfather clock says “DONG!”

I laugh when I make up such a stupid song

Such a stupid song

Such a stupid song

I laugh when I make up such a stupid song
